Cinema by the Sea - presents I, Daniel Blake( 15)
A 59 year old carpenter, recovering from a heart attack, befriends a single mum and her two kids as they navigate their way through the kafkaesque impersonal benefits system. A heartfelt and emotional story, with equal amounts of humour, warmth and despair. Daniel and Katie are caught on the barbed wire of welfare bureaucracy against the background rhetoric of 'striver and skiver'. 'Loach has made one of his finest films'. Won the Palme d'Or at Cannes.
Doors open 7pm. Film starts at 7.30pm prompt. Adults £5.50, Students & U18s £3.
