Charity Garden Open Day: Hospitalfield Gardens
At Hospitalfield in Arbroath the artist Patrick Allan-Fraser (1813–1890) remodelled a 13th century hospital to create his 19th century Arts & Crafts home. The walled gardens have been cultivated from the early medieval period, from the medicinal and the orchard to the Victorian passion for collecting ferns. This lovely flower and vegetable garden, set against the red sandstone neo Gothic architecture is maintained by a part time Gardener and a team of volunteers through their Garden Club. They r
