The garden and house were first established from a wild hillside in 1982. The garden and woodland were extended in 2001. It is principally a spring garden with ornamental trees, azaleas and rhododendrons, the latter are mostly from Arduaine, Ardanasaig and various friends’ gardens. A pond was created while landscaping the hill to provide a flatter area for a shed and greenhouse. Behind the garage is a new vegetable growing area. There are some pleasant walks in the woodland with wild primroses, violets, and other wild flowers, with various seats to rest and enjoy the special views over Loch Melfort and the Islands to the west. Directions: On the A816 Oban to Lochgilphead road opp. Kames Bay and the fish farm. Two and a half miles south of Kilmelford and two and a half miles north of Arduaine.
