The Story of Silk Study Day

This study day will explore the magic of silk, its uses and its histories. Dr Katherine Wilson of the University of Chester will discuss the history of luxury fabrics, from the medieval period to the time when silk was mass produced in Macclesfield Mills. Emily Wilkinson will hold a practical workshop on silk and creativity, using silk as its inspiration. You will also meet the artist Yvette Hawkins and discover more about her art installation INHABIT. The day includes a tour of Paradise Mil
