Durham Singers: the Night in the Garden
Ending with the soaring beauty of Allegri's Miserere, one of the best-loved pieces of choral music ever written, “The Night in the Garden” tells the story of the intimate human dramas that unfold on the last day of Jesus’s life, as told in music by some of the greatest composers of the Renaissance. Kenneth Leighton provides a modern and English contrast to the Latin Roman music with his setting of a Puritan meditation.
