The last concert of our 2017 season has a mouth-watering programme of music from Haydn, arguably the father of the string quartet, to Webern's 'Five Pieces'- an early work, his first plunge into atonalism, which owes a lot to Mahler (and lasts about 10 minutes), via late Mozart and the second of Brahms's long awaited works for string quartet.
