The annual national celebration of Shakespeare in primary schools is back. Now in its fourth year, Shakespeare Week 2017 will have a music theme and to kick-off the celebrations, we’re inviting primary schools across the nation to take part in the Big Assembly on 20 March, performing a new song – Shakespeare Rocks, composed by Steve Titford especially for Shakespeare Week. Visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace and Shakespeare’s New Place during Shakespeare Week and enjoy a tour by our expert young guides. From 20 – 24 March pupils from selected schools will act as official guides as part of our Museums and Schools programme, sharing Shakespeare’s story with visitors. 25 & 26 March – visit the Shakespeare family homes and watch our special troupe of young people performing extracts from Shakespeare’s plays. Listen to music from the period and you can even form your very own Tudor band.
