Saltmarshes : Geology and Evolution @ The Green Centre
Natural History Leisure Learning - This course of lectures and fieldwork covers the history and evolution of estuarine marshes, and the sea level rise induced changes in sedimentary environments from drowned fossil forests to saltings over the last 5,000 years at Erith marshes. We will also visit Greenland Quarry to examine estuarine changes during the course of the Purfleet interglacial (300,000bp). This course will complement the companion course ‘Saltmarshes: Ecology & Botany’ which runs 12
