Guilsfield Singers spring concert
A performance of Stainer's beautiful cantata Daugher of Jairus, edited from the original score by Gerry Howe, Guilsfield Singers' Musical Director. The choir will be accompanied by the Maldwyn Strings and a specially assembled wind band. Less well known than Stainer's later oratorio Crucifixion, but similarly influenced by Mendelssohn, this cantata has rarely been performed since1910. Also on the programme: Schubert's Mass in G and Parry's anthem I was glad.
