Balsam Bashing at Brynna

Join our volunteers at Brynna Woods and Llanharan Marsh for some hands-on conservation work, fresh air, exercise and good company. Himalayan balsam is an invasive non-native species that shades out native wildflowers and erodes riverbanks, as well as causing other issues for UK wildlife. Luckily it is easy to pull out, so come along and help us remove this invader to keep Brynna Woods and Llanharan Marsh full of lovely native wildlife. Meeting Place: Meet at the western entrance to the reserve, off Brynna Road, by the naturally woodlands eco housing estate. Nearest postcode: CF72 9ZR. Clothing Requirements: We will be working outside so please wear weather appropriate clothing, sturdy waterproof shoes/wellies, and bring some water. Bring gloves if you have any. Accessibility: We may have to work in areas of the nature reserve where there is thick vegetation and access is difficult. It recommended that you wear trousers and long sleeves to protect your skin.
