London Handel Festival 2017 - Handel and Telemann at Wigmore Hall
Young rising star, soprano Rowan Pierce, joins the London Handel Players for a programme of exquisite cantatas and chamber music by Handel and Telemann. These two giants of the baroque period were lifelong friends and Handel was forever indebted to Telemann for introducing him to the joys of opera. They corresponded frequently and borrowed extensively from each other in a long-distance friendship that lasted for over fifty years.
