Judas Maccabeus - Handel's victorious oratorio sung by Reading Festival Chorus
Reading Festival Chorus is delighted to offer you the chance to hear a work which, though not often performed these days, was Handel’s most popular oratorio in his own life-time.
It tells the story of the Maccabees’ recovery of their temple in Jerusalem, celebrated in the well-known chorus “See the Conquering Hero comes”.
Conducted by their Musical Director Edward Rhys-Harry, the Chorus is joined in this concert by professional musicians and soloists - the well-known local organist Simon Din
