Exhibition: ‘Time Gentlemen Please: The story of Dorking pubs’
The Museum’s summer exhibition tells the story of the
public houses of Dorking. It plots the growth in the number of pubs from the 13th century to their peak in the 19th century and to the present day. The exhibition will recover the town’s ‘lost’ inns, maps and pictures (both old and new) showing those buildings that used to be inns, as well as those that still are, revealing the past of each building and some of their stories. Drawing competition and old pubs games for the children too. Sp
