Concert - Cantemus celebrates 150 years of choral music

Come and enjoy Brahms' beautiful "Liebeslieder Walzer" (Love Song Waltzes) inspired by his love of Clara Schumann; Rachmaninov's "Six Choruses" (settings of six Russian poems, some rousing, some ethereal); Gorecki's haunting "Totus Tuus" and don't miss the opportunity to hear contemporary composer Trevor Roberts' "Three Offertories". And in addition to these lovely choral pieces, you can also enjoy exciting piano and organ solos and duets by Margaret Couser and Chris Lambert. Our conductor for this unique concert is the talented Caroline Smith. Here is what the critics have said: Carolyn Greenwood: "sheer delight from start to finish", "a very disciplined but sensitive group of musicians", "the audience was captivated". Robert Baker-Glenn: "beautifully judged" Patrick Cogswell: "an exceptional quality of sound, which many a musical director could only dream of.

The concert begins at 7.30 pm. Tickets are £10 each available from the Corner Stores, Kintbury or from Liz Barnett 01488 658450 jsb@snowdonbarnett.com Refreshments will be served at the interval. There is a ramped entrance and a wheelchair accessible toilet, as well as some disabled parking spaces. Parking is generally in the streets around the church.
