Heritage Open Days
Free admission & free heritage buses between the Museum, Museum of Science and Industry & People’s History Museum
Heritage Open Days is England's biggest heritage festival involving 40,000 volunteers. It celebrates our fantastic history, architecture and culture; offering people the chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences - all of which are FREE to explore.
Every year in September we take part by providing free admission to the Museum for the event and operate a free heritage bus service from Shudehill interchange - see website for details
Getting to the Museum: Limited on street parking in the area:
We recommend that you use public transport to travel to the Museum. Don’t forget you can use rail tickets showing Manchester CTLZ as the destination to reach Manchester Victoria Station.

A free heritage limited bus service will link the Museum of Transport with the People’s History Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry, (plus Manchester Jewish Museum on the Sunday).
Our usual selection of light meals and refreshments will be available all day
