A rose without thorns – Pinsuti Chamber Choir

Pinsuti, the Ilkley and Skipton chamber choir conducted by Robert Webb, invite you to a concert featuring a miscellany of marvellous works on a dual theme. As a centrepiece to the concert, Brahms’ complex motet ‘Warum ist das Licht gegeben…?’, moves optimistically from existential angst to calm acceptance. Either side of this, Mary is addressed in Latin in Palestrina’s ‘Stabat mater’, Taverner’s ‘Mater Chrsiti sanctissima’, and ‘Ave Maria’ by Bruckner and, in Church Slavonic, in Rachmaninoff’s ‘

The concert begins at 7.30pm
Tickets are available from choir members or on the door, cost £8.
