Rachmaninov Vespers

If you love the rich tones and harmonies of Russian music you should come to hear Rachmaninov’s Vespers (All-night Vigil), which contains some of the most deeply moving, reflective choral music ever written.
Although known popularly, but incorrectly as the Vespers, the All-Night Vigil is actually a setting of the services of Vespers, Mattins and the First Hour within the Russian Orthodox Church. It was composed over two weeks in 1915, with Russia at war and on the brink of disintegration. After
