Life and Times of the Sundial: A Perspective on Civilisation's Most Enduring Timekeeper
The lecture examines how time has been told down the ages from the perspective of both the sundial and its competitors.
Kevin Karney our lecturer, studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. He has been a VSO teacher in Borneo and worked across the world as a petroleum engineer. He has had a life long interest in the history of timekeeping and cosmology and in sundials in particular.
The lecture starts at 11 am. Coffee is served from 10.15 am. There is a small charge to visitors of £8.00.
