Emma Johnson & Castalian String Quartet
Renowned for her lyrical freshness and spontaneous expressiveness, the ever popular Emma Johnson is one of the few clarinettists to have established an international career as a soloist. She has appeared with many of the world’s leading orchestras performing a repertoire that includes all the major clarinet works as well as pieces written especially for her by, amongst others, John Dankworth and Michael Berkeley. Emma grew up in London and won the BBC Young Musician of the Year Award in 1984.
