A fantastic day out for anyone interested in textiles of all kinds - embroideries, batiks, silk and cotton ikat, African waxprint, Chinese indigo, Japanese kimonos, Peruvian weavings and so much more. A bunch of specialist traders bring their goodies to Scotland once a year for this very popular show. The theme of this year’s World Textile Day is "COLOUR!"and our talks and exhibition will showcase lots of fabulous natural and not so natural colours in textiles from around the world. Visitors to World Textile Day Scotland are in for a very special treat this year, as Martin Conlan will be speaking on The Magic of Indigo and showing some of his stunning collection of Chinese Indigo textiles. At 2pm there will be a shorter half hour talk followed by a chance to show your own world textile at our Show and Tell session.
We are open from 10 am until 4.30pm Entrance is free to the market, the exhibition and the cafe. Talks cost just £3 each or £5 for both sessions and can be booked on the day itself. There are lots of lovely cafes nearby. Car parking is available very close by and the train station is a short walk away.
