Hickleton Church Re-discovered
In the 1980’s Hickleton church became too dangerous to hold services as the whole structure was being affected by subsidence. A local writer said it was ‘falling down a coalmine’ and in 1982/3 a plan was put in place to underpin the whole structure. After twenty years Dan Radcliffe has compiled all the known information from the 1983 archaeological investigation and it is this information and the speaker’s own notes that are the focus of today.
