Maps of War and Peace: Cartography and Propaganda 1914 - 1920

It is often claimed that World War One transformed the map of Europe and the Middle East. This illustrated presentation interrogates this claim by considering the often surprising role of maps during and after World War One, with particular reference to the vast and now largely forgotten archive of cartographic propaganda generated by both sides during the war itself and at the post-war peace conferences.
