Open Studios - Ceramics
Visit Sally Courage, Teresa Munn & Moya Tosh, local ceramic artists, united by a love of landscapes and the organic feel of clay. Guest artists include - January - Julie Massie, with stunning porcelain wall pieces. February - Christine Lack, March - John Brazendale
Sally works with coils of clay to create satisfying forms which evolve as the work grows.
Teresa works with text in ceramics, and explores feelings associated with the landscapes of our lives in clay-scripted wall plaques and hand-held textured forms.
Moya throws porcelain and uses blocks of glaze colour, 23-carat gold leaf, silver leaf & lustre colour for decoration. The vessel rims are cut to break the tension of the thrown form and create a new tension by 'stitching' over the cut with leather.
Red Steps is a working studio, and one of the three will always be working there and able to discuss their latest work.
