Visit Sally Courage, Teresa Munn and Moya Tosh, all local ceramic artists, united by a love of landscapes and the organic feel of clay. Shapes, colours and textures demonstrate their individual interpretations. Sally works with coils of clay to create satisfying forms which evolve as the work grows. The resulting piece then dictates its own decoration, which is often carved into the clay. Teresa works with poetry in ceramics, and explores how we recollect experiences, thoughts and feelings associated with the landscapes of our lives in clay-scripted wall plaques and hand-held textured forms. Moya throws porcelain and uses blocks of glaze colour, 23-carat gold leaf, silver leaf and lustre colour for decoration. The vessel rims are cut to break the tension of the thrown form and create a new tension by 'stitching' over the cut with leather.
