History Day at Llanfyllin Workhouse
A day out for history lovers at Wales’s only workhouse museum in the beautiful borderland. The new Oral History Listening Post in the Workhouse History Centre will be inaugurated at 10.30 by the Mayor, Dave Goodman, and visitors can hear local voices remembering the workhouse in its last days. Then costume historian Sarah Thursfield will give a talk on ‘Clothing the Naked: Pauper Dress in the Early 19th Century’.
