Universe Matters
Inaugural lecture by Daniel Thomas, Professor of Astrophysics, University of Portsmouth. Most matter in the universe is dark, only a tiny fraction makes galaxies shine, stars and planets form, biological life develop. In this lecture Professor Daniel Thomas will take us on a journey through space-time, visiting the interiors of stars and the hearts of galaxies, watching galaxies collide, and admiring gigantic cosmic fireworks to explain why the universe matters to us.
Lecture starts at 6 pm, followed by a drinks reception at 7 pm. Admission is free, but please book a place.
