FIRE - A pictorial history of Bampton's Fire Brigade
This exhibition is the work of Tom Papworth who was in charge of the Bampton Fire Station from 1977 until 1996, and who had worked there since 1963. Tom has researched the origins of the Fire Station back to 1813 in the form of a bill of repair when the Church Wardens paid for the repair of the pump to the fire engine. The exhibition plots the history of the station up until the present day using Vestry and Parish Council records, photographs, press cuttings, original certificates and trophies
