Kodály, Pärt and Górecki and more: an Eastern European musical feast
Join Lewisham Choral Society in the beautiful ‘Arts and Crafts’ church of Holy Trinity for a musical feast from Eastern Europe. Hungarian composer Kodály wrote his glorious Missa Brevis as a gift for his wife while they were in hiding in a war-torn Budapest. His love of the human voice shines through in the work’s soaring soprano lines and exquisite vocal harmonies. We also perform Kodály’s Pange Lingua and his pretty folk tune arrangement, Evening Song. Tonight’s works by Arvo Pärt, Alleluia-T
