Penydarren Steam Locomotive
Come and see our working replica of the world’s first steam locomotive as we fire her up and drive her down the track. On 21 February 1804, the original of this locomotive ran on the nine-mile tram road from Penydarren to Abercynon, hauling a load of ten tons of iron and about seventy people who hitched an unofficial ride!
