Bassenthwaite Festival
The last of three concerts in this friendly annual festival of Baroque music, given by Cumbrian chamber group, Ensemble Buxtehude, directed by David Gibbs. A five-part choir, soloists, strings and continuo will perform two choral cantatas by Buxtehude, and the rarely heard St Mark Passion by Keiser, which Bach studied closely before composing his own famous Passion settings.
