Passamezzo! ‘In Peascod Time’ at Church Stretton Arts Festival
On Friday 11th August at 7.30pm in St. Laurence church, the audience at Church Stretton & South Shropshire’s Art Festival will be treated to a collection of ballads, readings, madrigals, lutesongs, dance melodies and consort music from sixteenth and seventeenth century England, by the ensemble Passamezzo. A passamezzo was a popular sixteenth century tune and dance. The music is inspired by nature and in particular the activities of Summertime and the Harvest. The programme includes music by Cave
