Ickworth - Living History - Out in the Woods

With the head forester anxious to plant new trees, village children and servants on a day off are using their time to pick acorns and sweet chestnuts to grow new stock. Acorns are also being collected for animal feed during winter, and at 1 shilling and 8 pence a bushel, this is a popular activity for the locals. In the woodland, foresters are out in force, organising the seasoned oak felled last year as well as mending. Booking Not Needed.
A National Trust Event - Gates open 12:00. Start 12:00. End 16:00. Free Event but Normal Admission Charges Apply. Meet in West Wing Reception. Check website for latest information.
