Guidelines and Standards: How to Avoid Mistakes in Genealogy

‘It fits, so it must be right!’ So many budding tracers of ancestry adopt this view. Sadly, sometimes after months or even years of hard work, they realise that they have found an error. All that time spent – so much time wasted.

None of us can claim that we are 100% accurate. However, Peter Bailey shares some methods for critical evaluating and recording your data. Following his guidelines will help you to reduce the likelihood of errors.

There are no special entry requirements for this talk and you do not need to be a Member of the Society of Genealogists to attend. Expect a friendly atmosphere, expert speakers and lots of detail.
