Maps for Family Historians

Maps can add so much to your understanding of your family history. Maps can show where your ancestors lived and worked; help you to plot migration patterns; show surname distributions; reveal changes to street names; help you to locate sources for research; and guide you as you plan research trips.

In this one-hour talk, Charlie Mead introduces a wide range of maps including: county maps, town plans, estate maps, enclosure maps, tithe maps, transport maps, parish maps, social maps, and military maps.

There are no special entry requirements for this talk and you do not need to be a Member of the Society of Genealogists to attend. Expect a friendly atmosphere, expert speakers and lots of detail.
One-hour talk starting at 2.00 pm. Cost: £8.00. Members of the Society of Genealogists: £6.40.
