WEA Adult Education Course - Through a selection of the poetry and other writings of Gerard Manley Hopkins, Thomas Hardy, W B Yeats, and T S Eliot we explore some of the cultural and literary developments that both shaped and were shaped by these writers during the period. We shall attempt to de-mystify the reputation of 'difficult poetry' that some of these works have gained, and reveal the enduring power that they continue to exert on the imagination of readers.
