Day School: The Rise of British Landscape Painting 1750-1850

WEA Adult Education Course - This course will explore the growth of landscape painting in Britain over a critical century in its development, within its broader social and political context. Topics to be covered will include: the emergence of landscape painting; topographical landscapes; the aesthetics of the sublime and the picturesque; Constable and 'the English landscape'; industrial landscapes.
