The Stuarts - Art and Architecture in an Age of Turmoil
WEA Adult Education Course - Gunpowder, treason and plot - we explore the age of the Stuarts from the union of the crowns to their final exile. British art and architecture was opened to influence by Northern Europe and Italy and the personal taste of kings and queens led to the present riches of our Royal Collection. The sessions cover all the Stuart monarchs and the Civil War, look at theatre during 17thc, visit the Ashmolean Museum and walk round the Stuart city of Oxford.
