WEA Adult Education Course - How do we define the contemporary, and how do writers express the complexities of what it means to live in the modern world? We explore a varied selection of poetry and prose which writes out of and into the cultural, historical, political and economic developments of its time, and deals with contemporary issues of e.g. gender identity, self and nation, and cultural hybridity.
