History and Natural History of the Somerset Levels
WEA Adult Education Course - The Somerset Levels is the largest area of lowland wetland habitats in the British Isles. Large flocks of ducks and waders spend their winter in the flooded fields. While in spring and summer the meadows are home to carpets of wildflowers and alive with the buzz of insects. These waterlogged conditions support numerous archaeological sites, including ancient wooded track-ways dating back at least 5000 years. This course will investigate how the area has been formed
Start time: Mon 19:30. 6 sessions until 13/11/2017. Standard fee: £48. For information and bookings see website or telephone: 01392 457300.
