WEA Adult Education Course - This illustrated talk will cover the life and works of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, one of the greatest engineers of his age. It will include his family background; Clifton Suspension Bridge; The Great Western Railway, and his three ships – SS Great Western, SS Great Britain and SS Great Eastern. It will explain the social changes to society as a result of the arrival of the GWR.
There will be an emphasis on the GWR in the Bath area.
