WEA Adult Education Course - The course will explore connections between the work of artists and writers through a range of topics by drawing direct comparisons between word and image and placing the work in a wider cultural and historical context. We will look at shared techniques and motifs, as well as wider responses to major social, cultural and historical issues such as the depiction of working life and the role of women in the nineteenth century, and the impact on the arts of World War One
