Restoration and Georgian Herefordshire 1660-1760

WEA Adult Education Course - In political and religious terms the Georgians lived in the shadow of the Civil War and Interregnum. Military rule and the rise of lower class sectarianism accelerated the upper class political settlement of 1660 - the Restoration. This inaugurated more than a century of aristocratic rule combined with low-church tendencies in the Anglican Church. Surprisingly, there was toleration for non-conformists.
