Art across centuries and cultures - a comparative study
WEA Adult Education Course - The course will explore common themes and subject matter, across the whole of art history in Western and non-Western art. This will cover issues, such as the impact of new pigments, media and colour theories; different approaches to the creation of space in paintings, the treatment of the human figure in religious and secular art, approaches to landscape and objects; the meaning and purpose of art in different cultures.
