WEA Adult Education Course - This class will compare the development of London, Birmingham and Manchester at a time of rapid urban growth and increasing social problems. We will look at population, health and living conditions and the development of local government. We will study the development of the Port of London and its trade and the impact on the physical growth of the East End, the career of Joseph Chamberlain in Birmingham and the textile industry in Manchester.
