North American Art of the Native Indians and Afro-Americans
WEA Adult Education Course - The Other American Dream
Current large UK exhibitions on North American art concentrate almost exclusively on art produced in cities, generally by white Americans. This course will highlight the art of the other Americans - the exciting diversity of Afro American, native Indian and Hispanic artists whose work from the eighteenth century to the present day reflects their religious, political and cultural identity in powerful and often surprising ways.
Start time: Mon 10:30. 8 sessions until 27/11/2017. Standard fee: £60. For information and bookings see website or telephone: 0121 237 8120.
