‘Trinity’ An Art Installation - by artist Gillian Widden
The circle is a universally recognised symbol, a continuum with no beginning and no end, and is sometimes regarded as a metaphor for life.
The installation comprises three floor based circular pieces, each measuring 180cm in diameter. A simple ‘green’ hazel ring, turns into a circle of charred hazel twigs enclosing a mass of dried hawthorn berries, and ends with a jet-black wheel of hazel sticks.
Widden uses the natural world for both inspiration and material, creating contemporary artwork
