Salvin is perhaps the least well known of the major 'Gothic Revival' Architects. His works include magnificent mansions and cosy country houses, numerous churches, and castle restorations. Besides work at the Tower of London, Alnwick, and Warwick Castles, in 1869 he redesigned Dunster Castle.
