Light Vessel 55 (AKA The John Sebastian)

Heritage Open Day: The John Sebastian is one of only a handful of historic vessels found in Bristol Harbour. She was built in 1885 and was responsible for saving hundreds of seamen in her hard working life. Built in the same dock as the SS Great Britain, she was commissioned by Trinity House to serve as a light ship providing a life saving beacon of light to warn sailors of underlying hazards. A welcome sight for sailors on their way back into port. She was stationed off the Norfolk coastlin
