Chester Town Hall

Heritage Open Day: The Gothic Revival Town Hall was built in 1865, and officially opened 1869 by HRH The Prince of Wales, Earl of Chester (Later King Edward VII). It acted as a centre of government for region with the court rooms and cells still in use until 1991. Whilst today, Cheshire West and Chester Council is now housed in their new HQ, the Town Hall remains a cultura icon for the city, and is open to the public for specially arranged tours and weddings.
