Knutsford 'The Brilliance of the Turing-Welchman Bombe'
Heritage Open Day: PAUL KELLAR MBE is a trustee of the Turing-Welchman Bombe Rebuild Trust that rebuilt, maintains and runs the famous code-breaking machine.
The British Turing/Welchman Bombe was manufactured by the British Tabulating Machine Company in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, England. Immediately after VE Day, to prevent the world knowing how successful British codebreaking had become, Winston Churchill ordered that 210 machines at Bletchley be broken up.
