St Cuthbert's Catholic Church, Durham
Heritage Open Day: Completed in 1827 by local architect Ignatius Bonomi, St Cuthbert's is one of the oldest Catholic churches in the country. There is a spectacular stained glass window depicting Northern saints by the renowned Irish artist Harry Clarke and an ambo and processional cross carved by Fenwick Lawson are also to be seen.
