St Mary's Church

Heritage Open Day: 800 year old church founded by Robert de Cockfield c.1290. Historic grave slabs built into walls. Cockfield Memorial Glebe Garden community space opposite for picnics. Good starting point to explore Cockfield Fell (largest ancient monument in the North) - leaflet available. Some archive material, copies of old registers, maps, etc. on show.
